Director of Revenue Management

Oversees revenue management activities for The Hotel. Has overall responsibility for balancing the financial objectives of The Hotel products to maximize total revenues. Accountable for pricing, positioning and inventory management of The Hotel within their respective market. Oversees all processes associated with demand, revenue, inventory, forecasting and opportunity analysis. Works with Director of Sales and Marketing to develop and recommend sales strategies across all distribution channels for pricing of the transient customer. Acts as primary contact for and maintains productive relationships with all assigned leadership of each hotel - including hotel GM's, sales leaders, owners, key operational leaders and the corporate team.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 (two) years of direct revenue management experience with proven positive results

  • Knowledge of technical and managerial applications of reservation systems and their utilization
  • Knowledge of the pricing process for Business Travel Sales accounts

Education or Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management preferred

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

Revenue Management

  • Provides revenue management functional expertise and leadership to general managers, property leadership teams and sales leaders. Understands and accurately represents individual property sales needs.
  • Provides critical input to hotel leaders for development of property and a successful overall sales strategy.
  • Ensures hotel strategies conform to corporate philosophies and initiatives.
  • Ensures that sales strategies and rate restrictions are communicated, implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Prepares sales strategy meeting agenda, supporting documentation and facilitates all such meetings.
  • Conducts sales strategy analysis and refines as appropriate to increase market share for all properties.
  • Develops 6-month, 12-month and 2-year strategic action plans for long-term revenue management.
  • Proactively manages inventory on a daily basis to account for new demand and group business booked to maximize rooms revenue.
  • Assists hotels with pricing and provides input on business evaluation recommendations.
  • Provides recommendations to properties for Business Transient Sales account strategies.
  • Coordinate transient strategies around group sales effort.
  • Maintains accurate online and in-house reservation system information.
  • Regularly manages distribution channels for hotel positioning, information accuracy and competitor positioning. Communicate key findings to hotel leadership.
  • Analyzes month-end data to identify trends, future need times based on future forecasts and obstacles to achieving goals. Makes recommendations and works with hotel leaders to accomplish sales/financial objectives and initiatives.
  • Each month, generates updates on transient segments; continually analyzes transient booking patterns.
  • Assists with account diagnostics process and validates conclusions.
  • Provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges.
  • Provides recommendations to improve effectiveness of revenue management processes.
  • Is liaison, when necessary, between property and regional/corporate systems support.
  • Accurately prepares and participates in the weekly and long range forecasts.
  • Provides competitive market data using available tools and knowledge of markets
